Bes Abisko research expedition 2010

Follow our journey day by day as we gain hands-on ecological experience of working in the far North of Sweden. Aims - To collect data and harvest elements of long-term internationally recognised experiments looking at Climate Change impacts on sub-arctic plant communities. To train six competent undergraduates in field harvesting including plant identification, data collection, archiving and quality assurance To provide each individual with a specialist research area and related skills.

About us

We are six undergraduate students from the Biological science (IBERS) and Geographical departments (IGERS), acting as research assistants investgating the effects of environmental stresses on the flora of the Arctic heathland scrub. As a part of the research we are spending a month in the research centre in Abisko. This blog is designed to keep a track of our progress and to give an insight to those interested in the researched subject or the research centre itself. Enjoy.
